Most snowflakes are smaller than a penny. However, witnesses at Fort Keogh, Montana in 1887 claim to have seen snowflakes that were 15 inches across. There have been various other reports of abnormally sized snowflakes too.
Because of the air that packs it out, the water which would make one inch of rain would make ten times that of snow.
We know that it snows in Siberia, right? We’re not surprised that it should snow in Minnesota. But did you ever consider that a place like Hawaii also gets snow (like in the picture of Moan Kea)?
